Overview

Our CHDx17 is a compact and economical dispensing solution featuring a minimal factory footprint. It is engineered to perform highly precise gel gasket and adhesive applications for small to medium-sized components. Utilizing specialized fixture drawers for loading, this system ensures a fast, safe, and operator-friendly mass production process in tight manufacturing spaces.

Target Component Sizes

Optimized for small to medium-sized parts (up to 300 x 300 mm footprint).

Automation & Material Handling

Specialized manual or pneumatic loading fixture drawers. The drawer slides out for operator safety, allowing fast reloading, then locks inside the enclosed cabinet to ensure a completely sealed dispensing cycle.

Dosing Technology & Scientific Background

FIPFG (Formed-in-Place Foam Gaskets) Polyurethane Chemistry

The CHDx17 operates on the Formed-in-Place Foam Gasket (FIPFG) process. Liquid multi-component reaction materials (typically polyurethane or silicone) are applied directly onto the workpiece contour. Once applied, the components polymerize and expand (foam) at room temperature, forming a soft, highly elastic, and seamless sealing gasket. This eliminates the need for costly pre-cut foam tapes or manual rubber seals, providing superior dust and moisture ingress protection (up to IP67).

The Physics of Dynamic Mixing

Unlike static mixing where chemicals are layered passively, dynamic mixing uses a high-speed rotating impeller (up to 9,000 RPM) inside a precision-engineered mixing chamber. This is crucial for polyurethane systems because of the vast differences in viscosity and mixing ratios (sometimes up to 10:1) between the Polyol (A-side) and Isocyanate (B-side) components. The mechanical shearing forces guarantee a perfectly homogeneous blend, resulting in consistent curing times, density, and gasket profile height.

Technical Specifications & Core Components

Robot Architecture

A precise Cartesian coordinate robot structure integrated directly into a compact, fully enclosed safety cell. The enclosure ensures high operator protection from moving components and chemical fumes while minimizing dust ingress on raw components.

Mixing & Dosing Unit

Powered by our standard DDx12 Series low-pressure unit. It features stainless steel, double-walled, and thermally isolated pressurized tanks, enabling active temperature control and conditioning to keep chemicals at their optimal processing viscosities.

Mixing Heads

Fully compatible with DH15 / DHL15 / DHS15 Low Pressure Dynamic Mixing Heads (for reactive polyurethane resins) or SH12 / SHM12 Static Mixing Heads (for simple silicone potting applications), providing the flexibility to transition between materials.

Fluid Management

Equipped with speed-controlled gear metering pumps and an active chemical recirculation loop. Hoses are heated and insulated, ensuring the fluid is actively pumped back to the reservoir when the nozzle is not dispensing, eliminating sedimentation.

Control Software

Managed natively by Robotek's custom Easy Dispensing Software. Features parameter libraries for continuous ratio management, automatic rinsing warnings, operator dashboards, and offline trajectory calculations.

Ideal Applications

Polyurethane & Silicone Processing: Sealing, potting, and bonding of 1K/2K polymers requiring precise, trace-free, and bubble-free dispensing.

Small Electronics: Highly precise sensor encapsulation, potting of power modules, micro-sealing of enclosures, and outdoor telemetry housings.

Lighting Armatures: Potting and moisture protection for linear LED channels, street lighting housings, and high-IP architectural fixtures.

Medical Instrumentation: Gel cushion application, sensor assembly bonding, and packaging barriers requiring consistent cleanroom-friendly cell structures.
