Rx24 Multi-Axis Articulation & conveyor line assembly

Overview

For applications requiring the most flexible and advanced approach, our Rx24 system features fully synchronized 6-axis (6-DOF) industrial robots working alongside Cartesian structures. This patented, end-to-end automation line eliminates manual intervention entirely, guaranteeing maximum speed, flawless quality, and optimal production capacity for your most complex assemblies.

Target Component Sizes

Designed for complex 3D profiles and contoured structures of varying dimensional scales.

Automation & Material Handling

Synchronized 6-axis articulated robot integration. Features custom pneumatic grippers, automatic coordinate planning, and advanced RS18 automatic material supply feeding.

Dosing Technology & Scientific Background

Six-Axis Joint 3D Kinematics

Unlike standard Cartesian systems that are limited to flat planes or simple stepped heights, the Rx24 operates in true 3D space. By utilizing a 6-axis jointed arm, the system maintains the dynamic mixing head strictly perpendicular to the workpiece contours. This is vital for applying gaskets inside deep slots or onto complex curved geometry edges (such as automotive air intake manifolds or conical filters), avoiding bead elongation or side-wall runoffs.

Specialized DDFx12 Dosing Dynamics

6-DOF robotic movements introduce variable tool velocity as the joint motors accelerate and decelerate through sharp corners. To prevent thick spots or material gaps, the DDFx12 dosing unit integrates directly with the robot controller. As the tool velocity varies, the speed of the dosing pumps is adjusted in real-time within milliseconds, keeping the material volume per millimeter strictly uniform across the entire 3D trajectory.

Technical Specifications & Core Components

Robot Architecture

A fully integrated 6 Degree of Freedom (6-DOF) industrial articulated robotic arm built into a turn-key safety cell, providing unmatched flexibility for intricate spatial path tracking.

Specialized Dispensing Unit

Powered by the exclusive DDFx12 Series Dosing and Dispensing Unit. Specifically engineered for integration onto articulated robotic arms, with light-weight tool packages to maximize robot velocity and payload profiles.

Smart Part Handling

Equipped with custom-designed pneumatic grippers, robotic clamps, and indexing turntables. This allows the system to rotate and orient highly complex 3D parts automatically during the dosing process without manual helper intervention.

Complete Process Support

Equipped with our full suite of support options: active supply lines (RS18/RSA18), temperature conditioning (TCU17), and advanced machine vision with automatic laser path correction for zero-defect production goals.

6-DOF Integration Advantages

Articulated six-axis robots offer major benefits for production processes requiring a highly flexible approach:

Complex Contours: Dispensing on complicated 3D shapes, vertical channels, and complex contours with absolute path speed coordination.

Multi-Sided Coverage: Dispensing on multiple different faces of the same workpart within a single continuous program cycle.

Compact Footprint: Enables compact workcell designs by saving floor space compared to large Cartesian systems.

Stationary Mixing Head Operations: Moving and orienting the workpart itself under the nozzle of a stationary mixing head to facilitate dispensing on complex profiles.

Multi-Purpose Automation: Programming the same robot for material handling (loading/unloading, turning parts) as well as live dispensing, reducing peripheral tooling costs.

Ideal Applications

3D Industrial Filters: Heavy-duty, high-performance filter encapsulation and potting. Widely utilized in systems by Mann & Hummell, Donaldson, Freudenberg, and American Air Filters.

Intricate Automotive Assemblies: Potting and sealing complex 3D profiles on electronic battery enclosures, structural engine components, and contoured body frames.

Intricate Electronic Encapsulation: Complete resin encapsulation and potting of specialized military or aerospace sensor arrays with variable heights.
